Antitrust sees hacker attack on own resources, virus steals data

MOSCOW, Nov 15 (PRIME) – A hacker has attacked Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service with a virus stealing corporate logins and passwords, an authority spokesperson told PRIME on Thursday.

“It was a full-fledged hacker attack. It started with a massive mailout of a virus to addresses of the Federal Antimonopoly Service to steal corporate logins and passwords. There was a parallel attack on our information resources, perhaps, to break into them,” the spokesperson said.

He added that not only the central office, but also regional branches were attacked.

“The information security service reacted quickly, and there are no victims so far,” the spokesperson said.
